A bit kitchy, but a decent 20-30min diversion into the history of torture. The 'museum' has low lighting and many replicas of torture devices-many of which I've only read about in history books-along with explanations of use. It was about what we expected so we...More

Do not go here. It is a waste of money and time. There is basically nothing inside but a bunch of murals on the walls and tea stained old (fake!) signage about torture. You can do better reading about torture with good lighting. It is...More

This is definitely a tourist trap...we had that expectation when we showed up and it didn't disappoint. For 7 euros you will find all different types of torture devices, some look recreated and some look authentic. Overall this was interesting and killed about an hour...More

I think the expectation for this museum was maybe a little high. The price was quite reasonable at about €7 but actually for the size of it & contents it left us, not dissapointed but deflated. It took about 20 minutes to go through, consisted...More

The items were interesting with info cards beside most items. It cost us €7.50 and took around 15 mins to stop and look at each item. Some items are not for the feint hearted. I think there are better attractions in Amsterdam, unless you have...More

Not very big and quiet run down. Just involves reading typed information. Now worth the money, it would be better value and more interesting to go to a bookshop and buy a book on medical torture.

An odd one this... I found it interesting, the torture exhibits are enough to make you wince, particularly when you read the matter of fact descriptions that accompany them. It is a small exhibition but also quite cheap at 7.50EUR. It will not be everyone's...More

I wanted to see this museum since the last one i saw was when i was 15 in London. The place felt very dated like nothing has changed for years, there were some signs damaged and not replaced, like management has given up on it....More

Really poor attraction - old, small, tired and tatty, poor exhibits, no information given. Do yourself a favour - save your time and money and do something else - this place is rubbish.

5 euro max I reckon. Lots of reading. Just a few props and pictures. Nothing worth seeing really. Wouldn't recommend

Amsterdam’s buzzing hub, with its sprawling network of
tram rails and a seemingly constant flow of tourists
and commuters, yields convenient access to some of the
best sightseeing, shopping, and street life in Europe.
Closest at hand are the Royal Palace, the quaint shops
of Haalremmerdijk, the pedestrianized zones
Kalverstraat and Dam Square with popular neighborhoods
such as the Red Light District, and the Canal Ring

I'm not sure this is wheelchair accessible. There are a few sets of stairs in the museum and it seems like you need to use them to go between floors. You could contact the museum and ask. They may be able to accommodate... More
