I dont know if I just have high standards for archaeology but I felt a bit bad that this is all that Amsterdam could present in (what I believe to be) it's main archaeology museum. Only worth a visit if you've already got the Iamsterdam...More

There is a lot of work going on at the Allard Pierson Museum at the moment, but don't let that put you off visiting because there is still a heck of a lot to see! The recently refurbished Roman area has many more English explanations...More

This is a small museum but if you are interested in Roman and Egyptian archeology then it's worth a visit. It's old school...no bells and whistles but everything was well explained and displayed. There is a cool area call the ArcheoHotspot where you can chat...More

If you are really interested it is ok. The museum in Leiden (museum van oudheden) is better. You need a map to find the toilets etc. even with the map it is difficult to find your way.
