We visited the shop by chance when strolling round the streets of Jordaan and had such a great experience! The owner took his time to educate us about chocolate, beans and the interesting processes and farming methods that make the products he sells so unique (from bean to bar). We tried many different types of chocolate from all over the... More

A little off the beaten track but well worth the visit. It's a charming little shop with a focus on the quality of their products - they source in from chocolatiers and also produce their own. Quite possibly the best chocolate I have ever tasted in my life! I felt very bad taking pieces of all the samples but I... More

I went looking for hot chocolate on a cold winters afternoon b fore making my way to the Anne Frank house for a tour. Once entering and asking for a hot chocolate the friendly and charismatic owner asked me to choose what chocolate I would prefer then let me sample them all! You get to choose your own and he... went because i read about it on TA, and its a lovely shop with helpful staff, but the chocolates were just too expensive for someone not paying in euros. Slabs price from about 7euros a piece. Lovely shop none the less

This was difficult for us to find but well worth the effort. The owner was really keen to share his knowledge of the business and allow us to taste a whole variety of chocolate before ordering a well deserved cup. Four of us each choose a different place of origin. Kids could really taste the difference. Finished b buying several... More

I had hot chocolate (Madagascar) at this place and it was absolutely amazing. They also offer a great range of chocolate to buy and the staff is great. I'm far from a connoisseur when it comes to chocolate, but got great help from the patient staff to pick out what I wanted to buy. Great place, absolutely worth a visit!

My friend and I were served by an expat Londoner who was incredibly inviting and friendly. He offered us tastings of many different chocolates and gave us as much information as one could ever need on the origins and stories of the chocolate. The prices were more than fair. Would recommend for anyone who enjoys chocolate.

The staff here are excellent. They really know all the chocolates and I mean really know. They are masters and experts. You can taste them all and talk for ages. Some of the chocolates are divine. You will spend money here. Loved it. Would go back.

I was just wandering when the sign of the street offering chocolate shots caught my eye. The shop is wonderfully laid out with pull out displays hiding little tubs of samples of all chocolate on sale, so you get to try before you buy. Hence risk free. The chocolate shot wasn't even a gamble asked we asked to test several... More

Staying in Jordaan

Neighbourhood Profile
One of Amsterdam’s most preferred outdoor markets and some of the city’s favorite watering holes are but two of the many reasons to save ample time for a stroll through this especially convivial warren of narrow streets with its unfair share of quirky shops and quality galleries. Historically a haven for the working class and emigrants, these days the Jordaan is better known as an enclave for artists and designers. As popular as the Jordaan is as a destination for locals and out-of-towners alike, the area never feels particularly touristy or overrun with outsiders. A highlight even for long-time Jordaan residents, be sure to accept any invitation to step within one of the area’s beloved courtyards or to have a sneak peek inside one of its many working studios.
