Sugarfactory in Amsterdam is a dynamic, open-minded and creative place...

Sugarfactory in Amsterdam is a dynamic, open-minded and creative place where club, live music and theatre meet. The club regularly hosts local and international DJ heroes such as Andre Crom, Frankie Knuckles, Lunice and Black Coffee. Sugarfactory is also an upcoming stage for live music, offering the perfect venue for both small and intimate and larger-scaled gigs. The main venue - with its large stage and red velvet curtains - doubles as a great theatre location, boasting performances from The End Girls and comedian Greg Shapiro.Since the renewed small hall was opened in 2012 - a characteristic and intimate area alongside the main hall - Sugarfactory has been open 7 days a week, starting from early evening and stretching into the night. Inclusion of the extra stage, Sugarfactory serves as a popular springboard for upcoming talent, such as live bands, singer/songwriters and young organizations with remarkable initiatives.

Very good club, good music, good people :-)

I had good time there : DJ, people, room --> all good (it was a DJ of house, but I think they don't play only house music). Price was 10 euros. Drinks are not free (I wish it... read more

So every Sunday night for the past 14 years, the Sugarfactory hosts the Wicked Jazz Sunday session. It's a combination of live band / dj set that really gets the crowd going with a mixture of jazz/acid jazz and electronic music. The band is made of a saxophone player, a singer, a dj and a keyboard player. The mood is very... More

The location is in the centre of Amsterdam, in the most busiest area of all kind of entertainment such as cafes with life music, theatres, movie theatre, bars, clubs etc. We were here for the concert of J.P. Harris. It was in a small cosy hall but the sound was less good

After reading the mixed bag of reviews of this club I was a little hesitant to go but everything went smoothly. Everyone seemed to comment on the bouncers but they were your typical straight faced club bouncers, I had no problem with them. If you're into techno I definitely recommend this night while you're in Amsterdam! It's free and good... More

Okay so this review is mainly about techno tuesdays. I go pretty often and it's incredible but I'd say go for the music. Quick tips (details below): 1. Music: It's strictly techno but it's amazing!!! They play from 11pm-5am and it's always crowded till the lights are back on. Everyone there just keeps dancing it's crazy. 2. Tips about the... More

After paying €10 and making it into the club, my friend and I were escorted out about 30 minutes later by an extremely aggressive bouncer who grabbed me so hard he left bruises on both of our arms. He would not give us a reason why he threw us out, and after hearing us complain about how he was hurting... More

Cost something like 12 euros to get in (too much) and drinks were pretty expensive. The dance floor is fairly small and crowded. Mostly a young crowd and tourists. Music was the main downfall.. pretty boring techno, hard to dance to. Guys were only being let in if they came with girls, meaning the ratio was a bit off. Average... More

This place has a subpar sound system..u know the type of system thats only loud with no clarity or definition. Second, music is neither commercial nor proper underground. Moreover, the crowd is between 14 and 17 years old. Third, the staff were specially the ones on the door of this poor place were very offensive and clearly had no idea... More
