My wife and I visited the Rembrandt House on our second visit to Amsterdam. We are not that interested in Rembrandt's art so we were in two minds, but the house itself is great and there were a number of demonstrations set up in the...More

I have visited this two times now and I really enjoyed both visits. I found it really interesting and the staff are very informative.

We spent a lovely few hours here last spring on a somewhat dreary day -- and how bright that day became as we explored the very house where Rembrandt lived and worked. Having seen the Rembrandt exhibit the day before at the Rijksmuseum, this brought...More

Very much enjoyed this museum. Not only do you get to see a lot of masterpieces, you get to experience what the home, living conditions, and what his studio was like. If you have time, you can even try your hand at drawing with an...More

My husband and I spent a very enjoyable time here, exploring the house where Rembrandt lived, worked, and taught. It is quite sobering to think that such a great artist occupied that space while producing his incredible works.

Great spot get the whole feel of what it was like to live and paint here. Unfortunately its all recreated no original tools or instruments all were sold when he was bankrupt. Very well done with audio descriptions available.

A typical house of a rather rich citizen of Amsterdam in the 17th century. Nice reconstruction of Rembrandt's household and atelier

I cant even draw a straight line but this visit is well worth the entrance fee the house has been furnished according to the inventory made by the authorities when Rembrandt went Bankrupt so all faithfully collected and well displayed. Audio tour good and there...More

A fantastic insight into Rembrandt's life and how he worked, be sure to listen to the live description of how the colours were created and applied.

Hi all, Do you recommend that we book the tickets in advance? Are the line and the queue crazy long like Ann Frank's and Van Gogh? Wanted to see I can purchase the Rembrandt House the day of instead of buying in advance since we are not sure about our schedule. Thanks in advance for your tip!

You should be absolutely fine, especially if you go in the morning. The big hitters take pre-planning but these gems are pretty much walk in without too much queueing. This does depend on whether you come at peak holiday... More

Hi, I'm visiting Amsterdam in September and plan to visit the Rembrandt House. Can you tell me about how long you need at the museum? Would it be more than 2 hours? We are also going to the Van Gogh museum that day and would like to plan accordingly. Thanks! Claudia

1 hour should be fine but if you are the kind of person who likes to read the exhibit descriptions plan for a longer visit. Try the free audio tour it's worth every penny! ;) Also, this museum is free as part of the "I... More
