Most beautiful cinema I have ever been to

Tuschinski theatre features marvellous Art Deco finishings and is an official monument. Especially the main viewing room is magnificent.

I visited the Tuschinski Theater this year October to attend a conference. What a nice place to host a conference!!! Location: The threatre is right in the middle of everything. You have many restaurants, hotels and clubs around. If you want to get some experience of smoke, it is also a block way. Everything nearby is classy rather than cheesy.... More

Tuschinski Theater is the oldest cinema in Amsterdam and a extraordinary architectural display for anyone who has interest in historical buildings and architecture. The building is situated along Reguliersbreestraat in the city centre between Muntplein and Rembrandtplein We didn't catch a movie here but very much enjoyed viewing the eclectic and playful exterior of the theatre building, which is an... This is a fantastic place to see a movie. The theater is about 100 years old and it's nice to see a high res movie in Dolby digital in a place like this.

Every time I visit Amsterdam and this is about every two years I always pay a visit to this cinema. Not only do I enjoy the movie but most of all I enjoy the decor. Its just one amazing building inside and out. Pathé Tuschinski a movie theater in the Netherlands in Amsterdam commissioned by Abraham Icek Tuschinski in 1921.... More

We went to watch Bridget Jone's baby, a bit expensive (10,50€ per person) but so worth it! It's very nice inside... you feel very glamorous 20's! Shame on the staff tho, a bit rude and only speaking in dutch...

This beautiful cinema is definitely worth a visit. The walls are elaborately painted, there are gorgeous lights and a great ambience. See a movie in room one to experience the original theatre. The first balcony is best for views and a drink and snack are thrown in with the price. Great night at the movies!

Whenever you're in Amsterdam and you feel like watching a movie, pick this cinema. It's like you're back in the 1930's. The main cinema even has semi-private balconies (so nice). What it was lacking we thought was a good (or let's just call it 'modern') surround sound system. It almost sounded mono.... Visit this establishment for sure though, if only... More

An old family friend of my partners recommend coming here to me as I'm a huge movie buff. I was awe struck as soon as I laid eyes on the place. The whole building is amazing. You feel like you've stepped off the street and back in time to the 20's. This is a must see hidden gem in Holland.... More

What a remarkable building and a reminder of how cinema's could be so much better than the bland Vue, Cineworld, Showcase soulless boxes that we have in the UK. This really is a Cinematic Theatre with plush red seats and genuine character. Add to this that the volume is set so that you can hear it but do not get... More
