The Duif ( a former church, Duif means dove, the dove off peace) is a lovely building that lends itself perfectly as a exhibition space , a reception area as a venue for concerts talks etc. Ideally situated at the Prinsengracht, you can even arrive by boat.

A walk around the city is breathtaking, somehow due to massive amount of people visiting, but also thanks to these beautiful buildings. Christmas/new year eve is a perfect time to see the city, though it was freezing.

I would recommend taking the time to see this canal both by boat on a canal cruise and walking. We weren't going to do a canal cruise but decided on the last day to do one last minute. I have to say it is completely different experience to travel along looking up at all the house boats along the sides... More

I took my wife on a walking tour of De Duif and had a great time. The canal was beautiful with the lights reflecting on it. The architectural design of the buildings are very unique and beautiful.

We visited in November when the weather was cold. As there were fewer boats cruising the canals, we had far great opportunity to stop the boat and take photographs. There are many bars and cafes that all deserve a visit!

This is the canal that you can get your bearings on , its also on of the nicest canals with lots of different buildings, cafes ,shops etc go up one side and down the other. the roads of this canal also go along other canals its great to get lost but always come back to this one... Have fun
