Mid week break

Our hotel was right beside Vondelpark, lovely walk/cycle/run and shops just walking distance from the park.

It's a really nice park to disconnect from crowed Amsterdam old center, going for a walk, a bike ride, or have a coffee. It's very lively, with people running, riding bikes, walking, children playing. Perfect to make a stop and recover energies.

This is a great park to sit and rest after a day of walking around Amsterdam. Very peaceful and the scenery is fantastic.

Great open walking area but probably not seen at its best in early Winter, so we plan to return on our next visit to Amsterdam.

I had some free time, and wanted to see something outside the regular tourist zone. Walked around the park, saw LOTS of dogs having fun, as well as a surprisingly large amount of bird life. The water features, as well as collection of various groups getting their exercise in nice - and I enjoyed the nature experience just 5 minutes... More

we spent the morning walking all the way around this park. done in a english style with lots of lakes. there is also a lovely little bar called the milkhouse in the centre of the park which has a lovely cosy fire in it. I would highly recommend taking an hour out of your trip to walk around the stunning... More

Nice, clean park. We just did a short walk through but it was really pretty and there were a lot of other people out walking, bicycling, and picnicking. Would love to come back.

I had heard of Vondel Park before and after spending some time in the attractions nearby we stopped to sit in the park for a while. A nice time and the weather was good that day.

It's a shame we stayed in a hotel 2 min walk from this wonderful park and went only once. Most relaxing place

Vondel park is especially alive on Sunday. Families, bicycle riders, a few water points - not far from the museum.

Staying in Museum Quarter (Museumkwartier)

Neighbourhood Profile
Museum Quarter (Museumkwartier)
Top sites to see in this attractive and affluent part of town include the Rijksmuseum and the Van Gogh Museum, to name but two of the highly acclaimed museums of the aptly named Museum Quarter. And if you need a break from all the fantastic art, there’s the Neoclassical Concertgebouw music hall and Vondelpark, the city’s largest park. Shopaholics and luxury brand connoisseurs will love exploring the high-end shopping destinations of PC Hooftstraat, Van Baerlestraat, Cornelis Schuytstraat, and Jacob Obrechtstraat, where even the shop window displays are of museum quality. In the evenings, when the museums close and the daytrippers head home, the area becomes a quiet oasis of calm with a sophisticated and urbane tone.
