Most books are in Dutch obviously but it is a nice lace to hide from the lively central area. The major attractions, train station and ferry piers are all nearby, so it'd be also a good spot to consider your itinerary.

After you had lunch or dinner in for instance Vapiano (located inside the building) you can go into the public library of Amsterdam. In fact, if you go all the way up (where there is another restaurant) you can enjoy the view of the terrace...More

Clean layout, but inviting. Informative and eye appealing. Love the views and the restaurant. Easy to get to.

If you want a quiet escape from the streets overfilled with tourists, come to the Library, a city gem. Lots of quiet corners to read, watch movies, browse. A rooftop cafe offers great views. There is a fairly ok English language section and a huge...More

A lovely library to explore but it would be great if there were a few more English books to choose from.

What appears a new building, bright and airy. A reading room for children and parents on the ground floor and masses of books over several levels. Automated return system for books. Impressive advancement.

Head to the top of the library and you can see Amsterdam. Great view over the canal. A new modern library.

Futuristic interior in several floors. At the top you will find a restaurant and a terrace from you can see the whole city. It can't say anything about their books though.

Amsterdam’s buzzing hub, with its sprawling network of
tram rails and a seemingly constant flow of tourists
and commuters, yields convenient access to some of the
best sightseeing, shopping, and street life in Europe.
Closest at hand are the Royal Palace, the quaint shops
of Haalremmerdijk, the pedestrianized zones
Kalverstraat and Dam Square with popular neighborhoods
such as the Red Light District, and the Canal Ring
