Neighbourhood: Centrum
Amsterdam’s buzzing hub, with its sprawling network of tram rails and a seemingly constant flow of tourists and commuters, yields convenient access to some of the best sightseeing, shopping, and street life in Europe. Closest at hand are the Royal Palace, the quaint shops of Haalremmerdijk, the pedestrianized zones Kalverstraat and Dam Square with popular neighborhoods such as the Red Light District, and the Canal Ring hardly more than a moment’s stroll away. With the well-connected Centraal Station as Centrum’s base, it's easy to travel farther afield via one of the city’s iconic trams.

    Tourist Rip-off
Though the Stroopwafel was tasty, it was WAY overpriced, and I would not buy another one here. Had I known exactly how much we would be paying in relation to what we received, I would not have done this. Please take your time to look around and find a different Stroopwafel stand that makes them fresh right in front of you.

    Not worth the hype
Tasted very nice but incredibly expensive. Not worth the money or wait. In particular the staff let it down, lack lustre and seemingly uncaring about people’s waits or actually making the waffles - literally stood at the back staring at all the orders, not doing any whilst waiting for some diam bars even though some orders didn’t require Diams

Over priced and tasted like cardboard
It was a wet Sunday and we didn't want to walk further so we decided to grab on at the Kalverstraat store. We live in Amsterdam and a friend was visiting. Possibly the worst price quality ratio I have ever experienced. The Stroopwafels were very thin and dry, not freshly baked but "freshly reheated". Cardboard taste and the worst of all €10 for a small (approx. 8 cm in diameter) and €13 for a medium (approx. 12 cm in diameter).

    Good waffles, poor customer experience
The staff are incredibly rude. One was talking whilst at least 25 orders were waiting, the other was on her phone. It ruined it for me as I saw the place on Tik Tok, the waffles and shops are lovely but staff let it down massively.

    OMG Delicious, but messy
Got to be sure and have a Stroopwafel when you visit Amsterdam. Van Wonderen Stroopwafels was highly recommended. They were delicious. So many different ones to try, The line inside moved quickly. No place to sit and enjoy, but in reality that is part of the experience. A little pricy, so you won't likely buy a dozen, but his is a must stop destination. Location of this shop was also ideal location on a primary shopping street.

    Not Great
While the stroopwafels look amazing, it certainly didn't taste amazing. The stroopwafels come in two sizes and the large that you see most people get is too big. I couldn't finish it on my own. It'd be better to share. It also was overly sweet. The part without the extra topping tasted better. Overall, the stroopwafels you can get in the US at the grocery store or World Market taste better than these. The queue outside was pretty organized and moved quickly, but it's a bit chaotic inside as the store is quite small inside. Half of the store is still in line waiting to order and half are crowded on the other side of the store waiting for their food. Staff is a bit chaotic as well. They seemed to be having issues with the card reader with multiple people (also an important note that they don't accept Visa cards). We paid in cash and the cashier forgot to give us change back (we had to ask her).

    Not so sweet Communication
I ordered 3 seasonal tins for shipping but unfortunately have had no updates or info regarding my order since. I contacted the company asking for an update on shipping of my order but have had no response from the company as yet. I would advise anyone thinking of ordering for overseas delivery to be cautious, and I will update here of any progress. I don't think their customer service is up to scratch as they don't reply to customers or appear to update order status so the customer has no idea if or when their orders are shipped or to be delivered which is problematic when buying from another country and considering the cost of shipping is really poor service. Watch for updates/resolution.

    Tourist Trap… Would not recommend!
A total tourist trap because of the pretty exterior of the shop. We queued about 40 minutes to even get served, the staff were unprofessional and lacking any sort of customer service skills. There were no prices visible, so we just ordered 2 stroopwafels, and were very shocked to find the total had cost around €25. The stroopwafel was very average, it was too thin and was like eating a crisp - however the chocolate and hazelnuts were good. Wouldn’t recommend, plenty of other places where you can get a much better stroopwafel for a fraction of the price.

Not worth the wait or the money
First of all it was absolutely packed in there and it took us 45 minutes to get 2 stroopwafels.. They were yummy but they were insanely expensive and at the end of the day they were simply just stroopwafels. They tasted identical to shop bought ones and personally don’t think they were worth the wait or the price.

Have faith, they will refund your order if it is going to arrive too late
I just wanted to add a positive spin on my experience. I ordered 2 tins of waffles on the 29th October, to be used as Christmas presents. They did not arrive in time and I tried a couple of emails and to telephone the shop to cancel my order I received no reply then out of the blue in the middle of January I got an email with cancellation and refund into my bank a few days later

Myself and my 2 friends really wanted fresh stroopwafels yesterday so we looked on google maps for any places still open. Saw this place was so we made our way to it. There was two young girls working behind the counter. We placed our orders (total rip off - €6 for medium size) but when we saw the conditions in which they were being made we had to leave. One of the girls was cleaning around where the melted caramel was when the dirty cloth fell into the caramel. We felt sick when we saw that, they stopped using that caramel but they were cleaning around the other ones and we could see stuff dripping from the cloth into the caramel or chocolate. The girls were constantly touching their hair or phone and then touching the dough to make the stroopwafels straight after. We ended up just leaving, we knew we would feel sick if we ate them.
There was a bakery about 2 doors down from this place doing stroopwafels for €2.50, much better value and everything looked clean.

We went to the actual store at the end of June and it was pretty nice although we had to wait around 40 mins to be served and get our waffle. When I got home I ordered online and they were delayed shipping by quite a while, so I emailed to query where my order was.

A lady called Lisa responded to apologise for the delay and that she would be sending a “free gift” to apologise. Since then I’ve had to email about 12 times and query where this free gift is and I’ve requested the tracking number to see where it is after she said it’s been shipped out. She refuses to give me the tracking number and won’t respond to any emails now. Don’t bother buying anything from this company. They’re overpriced and not worth the hype, especially when their customer service is so shoddy. Don’t promise stuff you have no intention of delivering.

Unbelievable how miserable the experience was. We waited on line for about 20-25 minutes which we knew so that wasn’t a problem. We finally got in and paid and that is when we were held captive. We waited over 30 minutes and when I finally went to the counter to inquire, I was told they were out of the medium size but some were coming just then and my order was next. 10 more minutes passed and I finally told them I’d accept the small size that they did have just to make the misery end. I was an hour in at this point, paid $25 euro for 3 small waffles, and they were nothing special. I wish I had just gone to the other stroopwaffle place a few doors down. That guy was making them right in the window, no wait, cheaper, and I’m sure just as good. Do yourselves a favor and skip this place!!!

First of all the stroopwaffle was delicious... not worth the money but delicious. The experience of actually getting a stroopwaffle from this place is an absolute shambles. There is a long queue outside... i can deal with that if there was any sort of an organised system to ordering once you get to place your order. Around 30 people crammed into a tiny shop while orders are still being taken and none completed. Its a ticket system like McDonalds where you wait for your number to be called but when it does you can't get to the front as it's like rush hour on the London tube inside. The one girl behind the counter shouted to everyone 'can you just shove in' and then told people who had already ordered to go outside. You can get stroopwaffles from many places across the city where you don't have to wait 30 minutes and have to deal with this complete shambles

My partner said “I’ll get this” as I’ve taken her away for her birthday. You know the vibe when you buy dinner at £50 and she says I’ll buy you an ice cream for £2, as a treat… same thing here.

Anyway, queues were long, as expected. Extremely disorganised, we were number 82 and I think the orders went up to about 89 before we questioned where ours was.

Turns out, one of the staff members served her fella/boyfriend/friend, forgot to do ours, fobbed it off to another member of staff who decided to do one, then crack on with other people’s.

Staff - all female and all with a face suitable for radio, couldn’t knock up a smile between them all, this is coming from a guy who’s very much a half empty chap.

€30 for two large stroop waffles with average service but the doorman with the hats looked cool.

Not worth the agg if I’m honest but they were nice.

I saw this place all over Instagram so I knew I had to try it while in Amsterdam. It’s a tiny little shop, you really have to keep an eye out for it. There’s standing room for about 5 people. There were two woman behind the counter who were quickly taking orders and delivering waffles.
There were several different waffle toppings to choose from. I went with chocolate and m&ms.
I don’t really have a sweet tooth at all, so maybe I’m over exaggerating but these are SWEET SWEET !
I could only eat like half of mine (and they are super small) before I had enough.
They are really good and an even better on the go snack while walking through Amsterdam. It also helps that they are super cute.
I’m giving three stars because they were good but not the best dessert ever.

Expensive average waffle is what I ate. In addition to this, the ladies working there were so unprofessional and disrespectful. At the time we were 5-7 people waiting for our order and they ladies just stopped working and started joking between them and laughing and then were using the stores phone to call their friend from upstairs to joke with her. All this was done in front of us while we waited for our payed waffle

After seeing the hype about this place online we were really excited to pay a visit. A huge disappointment. We queued for almost an hour and the shop is extremely cramps and overcrowded inside. You can hardly move for people. The staff were unfriendly and looked miserable. Once they shouted out our ticket number I had to squeeze passed other tourists. Once I got went to the til I couldn’t find our order. I realised a woman had her umbrella resting over our food. I had to move it then squeeze my way out of the shop. It was really unpleasant. The actual stroopwafel was not worth the wait at all. It was very sickly, dry, and extremely expensive. Anyone thinking about visiting, please read reviews, as like others have said, it really is a tourist trap.

Overhyped and overpriced.
Their clientele solely exists out of tourists since they will overcharge you at a starting price of 7 euro for a mini waffle.

Unprofessional staff, badmouthing behind customer's back.

Want better 'stroopwafels'? Ask local people or shops and they will help you out.

Ways to improve:
- Hire friendly staff
- Cut down the price
