Lot to see and also interactive. The smell the exhibition part is fun! It's only, i guess the modern art is not for my taste.

This museum has a wealth of exhibitions on show. Well worth a visit. I spent a few hours there. It's an ideal wet day activity. I particularly liked the late sensory options during the visit. There is late opening hours on Thursdays.

Initially we even couldn't catch what's about the museum, a lot of things, books, pictures, clothes, paintings, etc. To be honest, we couldn't undestand the idea, to progressive for us. Maybe our vision about museums is too... More

It is a nice building, with a classic 20th century side and a modern buliding which is 10 years old. If you like modern art you will enjoy the visit. If you are not a fan, maybe it is a waste of 12 euros.

I really enjoyed my visit in this museum. When I visited it, there was an interactive exposition where the artist represented the feeling of earthquakes in the area of Groningen. The founder of the museum was the cigar manufacturer van Abbe, who donated this museum in 1933 for “living artists” and the collect art pieces since then. The museum gives... More

So far from being unaccessible (most places that try to do conceptual art well fail miserably), this one is spot on and very interesting. You don't need to know a thing about art before you walk in and they don't try to sell it to you - they just present modern art in chronological order. It's very clear and there... More
