Maastricht’s market square is a beautiful open space square with the nice building of town hall in the middle and many nice building from Renaissance era around. It is a commercially busy place with many different choices of food and shopping.

Markets are being organized almost daily. There are many restaurants and shops on the square and is close to other sights.

Market on Wednesday and Fridays with all sorts of Dutch fare, trinkets, what have you, antiques, anything goes.

So many nice flowers stand and to see all the local producers. Atmosphere was great and so busy all over the market. Just if the main square and a must to see and sit on a terrace. Enjoy.

I enjoyed walking around the historic square while perusing the various vendors - fresh cut flowers, fish, fruits & vegetables, baked goods, cheeses as well as some clothing and craft items. There was a lot more elbow room than I'm accustomed to at a market...More

The market square in Maastricht is still in use as a market on Wednesday and Friday. Wednesday's market is a bit smaller than Friday's. All around the market are terraces for a coffee, lunch or dinner. Prominent on the square is the old city hall....More
