Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Visited the place for the Basquiat exhibition. It consists of 4 (four!) original works. For these 4 works the ticket price is Eur 12,-. Same as every major museum.
If Boijmans (Rotterdam) or Van Gogh would charge 3 euro for each exhibited original work, the price for a visit in a Dutch (real) museum, should be between Eur 500- 1000!

Overpromising in an exhibition which has little to do with the announced topic, huge prices for what is being exhibited, in a building with dirty toilets which do not function.
Stay away from this place, it has truly NOTHING to offer.

If you haven't been here, you haven't been here.

That means you did not see the rooftops of Heerlen from here. Sorry for you.

Ok, there is not too much you can do in Heerlen...and searching for a cafe you cannot miss this place if you are in the town center. The multipurpose venue that used to be a department store that is now turned into a open work / museum / restaurant / cafe place as is known as the "Glass palace" is one of the "Bauhaus" gems with loads of glass (surprise #1) and the exhibitions offered are just awesome (surprise #2), in this case, Basquiat...

Its a very nice place bcz of many reasons. First one is bcz I had restored some of the artworks from their collection in SRAL. Another thing is that they have many things within this one premisis..that is restaurant, cinema and library etc. Very warm staff and food is really good. Very good view over the city of Heerlen from rooftop..Very nice place.. :))

I mainly used Schunck for their free public library to study. The building has 2 or 3 floors you can use and sit at. The only downside is that the building does not have walls, only windows that are not connected to the floors. This means there is a space and you can hear people talking a couple of floors below, the amount of light makes up for it
Next to that, on the upper floor there is a restaurant and on the 1.5 floor a bagels and coffee place. The restaurant has a beautiful view over the roofs of the city center and the rest of the city.

A very friendly welcome. A good menucard en very good service.
The food was delicious and the people were very friendly with a lot of humor but also distance. The only disadvantage are the chairs. For a person of 1.90 meter the chairs were to low

Schunck is named after a cloting firm from the 19 thirties. A modernistic buidling by an architect named Fritz Peutz. After the decline of the the business the building got poorer and poorer. It escaped demolishing and is recently refurbished to its origins by the architects Wiel Arets Architects en Jo Coenen. In the basement we visited an excellent exhibition of the Bauhaus architect Mies van der Rohe. At the top we had an very tasteful dinner at "Mijn Streek".
So if you're in the south of Limburg or in Maastricht, visit also Heerlen and the Glass Palace Schunck.

First building of its kind in Europe. Dates from time period before second WW. In the toplevel is a restaurant and a gret view on the city of Heerlen.
