Science at work: then and now

Small but certainly interesting museum in center of Groningen. Starting with modern day archaeology examples , but also in past collected items and tribute to first female Dutch physician and advocate for women’s vote rights. Interesting collection of anatomy related samples ( Enschede collection).

Could use an update

This university museum is stuck a couple of decades ago. Nice people, old interior, not really a clear curator's view on what it should focus on. Some nice pieces. Friendly laidback staff.

Interesting and very cheap.

Because we were students we could enter the museum for 1.50 a person. If you're not a student it's just 3 euros so you really get a lot of bang for your buck. The exhibition was very nicely explained and thoroughly thought out. Everything was in English so pretty much anyone can enjoy the exhibition. Lots of stuff to see as well. Very clean museum as well, not as big as you'd expect but come on, 3 euros!

The reason of us being in Groningen is because we came to drop our daughter to this university. Best Academia, and catching up fast with colleagues like Oxford, Cambridge & LSE.

I really, really liked this museum. There weren't that many objects but rather stories, they were very interesting though and closely related to our modern ways of life such as health and wellbeing. That being said, there were still many things on display. Also, free entry!

A must visit landmark in Groningen
Nov 2017
If you end up in Groningen, you certainly must visit the old university building in the centre. It is very well preserved and has an amazing atmosphere. Go there in a weekday so you can dive in the student vibe.

A stimulating museum of University life
Jun 2017
This is an agreeable specialist museum, graced by a replica of Ben Feringa's Nobel Prize Medal. The museum gives a fascinating insight into the development of the University of Groningen and the vibrant life around it.
