Just across from the rail and bus stations on it's own island the Museum is worth a visit. A mixture of traditional and contemporary art installations. Takes a good couple of hours to get round everything. The museum itself is a well designed building with...More

Walked from the hotel to the Groningen Museum as had read that the architectural aspect of the building alone was worth a visit. Once there, decided to go in this colourful building and view the exhibits. Mostly modern with some Old Masters but great to...More

We went to the Groninger because we are huge fans of the Memphis era and its designers like Ettore Sottsass and Michael Graves. The building itself is a work of art and their exhibitions always seem to fit the building. Love coming here!

The Groninger Museum houses very good temporary exhibitions in a striking building just across from the main station and on the edge of the old town. It is well worth a visit.

Starting from the 3 pavilions in the canal, extremely well designed museum. That's both as an artwork in itself, and also as a space to navigate. Signs are clear, and info panels are in Dutch, English & German. Some panels especially for kids. Collections range...More
