Groninger museum really takes an effort in showing the best art and culture imaginable. They take an effort in getting new temporary exhibitions in and attracting the public. David Bowie earlier in 2016. We visited Rodin. Excellent. Cappuccino on the top floor cafe is highly recommended. Take two if you like. Love those. Only drawback: tickets and cloakroom. You have... This museum is one of the main attractions in the city. We saw a great exhibition about Rodin and also the standard collection is good. It's next to the train station which very convenient.

The museum has some interesting pieces of art and objects based on Groningen and its history. When we visited there was a Rodin exhibition, which was excellent. The museum is modern and not to my taste at all - though the views from downstairs at water level can be beautiful.

I take any chance I get to go to this gallery because I just love the setup of the exhibitions! There are three floors. The top floor is the most spacious. When you enter the exhibition after going downstairs you're actually pretty much underwater when you look outside the window. It's pretty cool. They have a store and a café... More

went there to see the david bowie is exhibition, and it was absolutely amazing. really well curated (thanks V&A). bit full for my liking, but it was towards the end of the exhibition so i guess they wanted to allow as many people to see it!

Really interesting building containing a wide range of mainly modern art. Some interactive exhibits as well. Hosts special exhibitions - Rodin one about to start.

Depending on the exhibition and taste in art, you can have a good time or not. I had the chance to see Chinese modern art and it was quite interesting.

Just opposite the station in the canal. The reading room is of another world with porthole windows looking into the canal

The Groninger museum is located just opposite the Groningen central railway station. It is full of contemporary art. A very different experience as compared to seeing the Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam. There is student discount on the entry fee on producing the student ID card.

There is free admission with the museumkaart (museum annual pass) to this museum. The museum building is modern, with an amazing staircase. Each room had such a different feel to the next room, with a real variety of architecture and exhibits. I especially liked the room which had objects displayed in chronological order illustrating some of the history of Groningen,... More
