Visit of the Groningen museum is a must, located on an artificial island opposite the railway station. Interesting architecture but also very good and changing exhibitions.

Currently they run an exhibition of Maarten Baas - an interesting furniture designing who became famous by burning & smoking design furniture. Also rest of collection worth a view.

We just saw the Maarten's Baas exposition, but was great to discover this designer and artist, that make us reflect about time and impermanence thru his work. We enjoy a lot

We spend a wonderful time at the museum. The modern art exhibitions by local artists were surprising and very interesting. The hide and seek exhibition and the real time exhibition were particularly interesting.

Nice museum, it's small and can see everything in less than half a day. Located just across from train, bus and taxi station. If you plan on visiting several cites in the Netherlands it may be worth getting museum pass.

I stayed in Mercure Hotel in Martiniplaza, it's a 15 min walk from the city center, but it's very well maintained, not extremely pricey and has a good loyalty program. I would advise for business trips, for touristic trips... More
