You cannot miss it. This medieval building is very well maintained and just beautiful. It is located in the heart of the city.

Amazing

This amazing building sits on the main market square. It is very well restored. A pity that the terraces take away the full view of this monument.

Market square building

This attractive Renaissance era Nijmegen town centre building has bars and cafés to its fore but is still easily the best looking old town structure in the area.

Beautiful

This magnificent building takes pride of place on the square and is worth a look. Built in the 1600's it is a great example of the architecture of the time. It now houses a cafe/restaurant with seating both inside and out. We didn't use it this time but really enjoyed the views.

Great place to have good food, chill and relax in the sun!

Good food with friendly staff and nice scenery sitting in the sun at the Grote Markt.
From this point there is this Electric Bus which brings you in 40 minutes to a city tour. Cute and fun.

Beautiful historic building
May 2019 • Couples
Each town we visited in the Netherlands had one of these De Waagh buildings. Some were more beautiful than others and the Waagh in Nijmegen was very impressive. Full of details to see and photograph. Very nice to see

History and Delicious
Apr 2019 • Couples
The walls of this place could tell some incredible stories, the chef is making new ones of their own...
We stopped for a quick bite to eat, service was quick and friendly, food was delicious,
Would recommend highly

Landmark building from 1613
Mar 2019 • Solo
Perhaps because the church of Saint Stephen is more hidden and the devastation caused by the American bombers in 1944, de Waagh has gotten this prominent status at the central square in Nijmegen. A beautiful building in Dutch Renaissance style with red and black windows and other decoration. Built in 1613 it is testament of the prosperity of 17th century Guelders (Gelre), large parts of it became one of the seven provinces that later constituted the Netherlands. Especially attractive when the sun is shining.
