The most northern Dead Sea beach on the western (Israeli) side, Just 25 minutes drive from Jerusalem. Simple and very accommodating beach; an open cafe with special water-cooling fans enables a 360° view over the Judean and the Jordanian desert and the Dead Sea.

The shore is large and allows shaded spots alongside sunbathing chairs. Another snack bar is located next to shore. Health treatments are available.

The dead sea stop off point for an hour to bob about in this strange lake! Facilities OK, not the best. Lockers and refreshments available for those who need them. A little walk down to the water, take shoes and keep them on! Be mindful not to go in with any jewelry on, especially Silver.... have fun!

Experience at least once in your lifetime the effortless floating in the Dead Sea! It's so much fun! But make sure you don't get water in your eyes... Don't swallow it either! Oh, and if you have minor cuts, you'll feel it! The mud made my skin so soft. Try that too!

Kalya beach is a great access place to the dead sea just at the start if you come from Jerusalem. Although I think run by the kibbuz, also the Jericho arab poeple go there (if you are foreign tourist with love to arabic culture, then AubergInn in Jericho is highly recommended - rental car drive to Jericho currently no problem... We were very grateful to use these facilities after our swim in the dead sea. Hot showers and changing rooms were good. There is a restaurant and souvenir shop here as well if you fancy a bite to eat or some packaged dead sea mud to take home to your family.

We've been there a number of times; they've improved it over time; has all the necessary for a Dead Sea visit...mud is plentiful and free; adequate bathrooms and showers; food drink etc

We did not love the beach at all ! It was dirty with not very good looking people showing their assets. We were expecting a spa, and all we got was a container full of nasty mud.

This was on hubbys bucket list. Unfortunately got there at dusk. So not worth the $15 admission but we went and floated. Advise being careful as I found the footing down to water slippery as was the floor in the change area. Please bring water shoes.

If you travel without a car, you won't be able to get there, though it is free for the hotel guests. Travel agencies bring there tourists, and in the afternoon it looks like "a melting pot", noisy and crowded. Despite the beach is free for the hotel guests, they charge for lockers and towels. The locker that I used had... More
