James Joyce was always a favorite of mine in my youth, and I had no idea he was buried here. Amazing experience.

This is easily accessible from the no. 6 tram and is well worth a visit on a sunny day. Located next to Zurich Zoo and the FIFA HQ (which you can wander around and is also lovely), Joyce is buried amidst many other notable names in a beautiful corner of the very well kept graveyard. As a site of general... More

I visited based on the 3 comments and I was not disappointed. I am not a JJ fan, but it was still worth the visit. Very nice and very well kept. For those like me, look up James Joyce first for some appreciation of his great works. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/James_Joyce

I'm a huge James Joyce fan and this is pretty much the only reason why I went to Zurich. He is buried there with Nora Barnacle. It's set in a lovely cemetery. Be sure to check out some of the other lovely headstones in the cemetery.

A beautiful well-kept cemetary, respectful to the memory of James Joyce. Everytime i have been there, others have been as well. Clearly a pilgrimage site.

This location is easily accessed with public transport Tram #6. Go to the end of the line (Zoo) and exit the tram heading towards the Zoo. You will see the cemetery on the left about 100 meters from the Tram stop. This is a very beautiful cemetery located on the edge of the woods. The most notable person laid to... More
