Interesting

Interesting red phone booth with machineries inside located next to the lake. It was very interesting to look at but no idea what it does.

A quirky phone box
Oct 2019
The males were quite interested, but didn't actually work out what it does. The odd bit moved, but nothing was obvious. Maybe it wasn't working when we were there. The red phone booth did look a bit out of place!

Dark at night
Nov 2019
Passed thru this area a few times throughout my stay at Montreux. It was dark at night and during the day, it was ok. Nothing much to see except for the Freddie Mercury statue.

No joy today
Jun 2019 • Family
Today the machine had malfunctioned; the mechanisms were moving, but there was no ball to be propelled by them.

Hopefully someone periodically checks on it and puts things right when it does this. I can see how this Rube Goldberg-style machine could be quite entertaining, when it works.

Funky phone booth
May 2017 • Friends
Right by the lake and the Place du Marché, this phone booth is actually a sculpture that looks like a game. A series of mechanism move a small metallic ball and you get caught up following the ball moving around. It belonged to the creator of the Jazz Festival and the Swiss artist, Pascal Bettex, has made other interesting pieces. Stop by Allo Claude and have a look.

Jun 2016 • Couples
You can spent quite a lot of time in front of it and trying to discover the way it is done. It is simply amasing the way that it was built. It near the Queen's king of rock

A Mechanical Moving Marvel!
Jun 2015 • Couples
~Just next to Freddie Mercury's Memorial on the Quai de la Rouvenez you notice this quant Red "London" Telephone Booth like sculpture

~Allo Claude was created by Pascal Bettex for the Biennale de Montreux 2013 "Prix du Public" roughly translated people choice award

~It was named after Claude Nobs who co-founded the Montreux Jazz Festival

~perched on the boardwalk deck just next to Lake Geneva on the Swiss Riviera, this curious moving contraption works on kinetic energy and with the right backdrop it's a photographer's dreamscape with a surreal or strange juxtaposition like Dr Who's Tardis

For any geeky or nerd "ahem" this is worth a visit :)
