Went in Jan 16, view from Montreux to Rochers de naye was breathtaking. Total train ride ard 1hr one way. As a non skiier, its an experience to walk on snow moutain or have a drink at the restaurant. Last train back to Montreux at 16:00.

~even with 1st class Swiss Travel Pass, you will have to pay a surcharge to take the tram up from Platform 8 of the Montreux Train station, one-way CHF12.90/pax ~always ask the train operator or conductor at the platform if it's the right train as it can get confusing where they go. Look for Montreux–Glion–Rochers-de-Naye railway (MGN) ~You can see... More

We drove by car to Haut-Caux from Montreux, quite a ride! We took the train from there, it was amazing and well worth the price. The train was almost empty as there is not a lot of snow and it was on Christmas day. We will definitely come back. You can also spend the night in a "yourth" or in... More

How on earth SBB trains can justify £96 for a couple visiting Rochers De Naye for what in effect is a 45 minute journey on a cog railway is beyond me. I have used cog railways in Switzerland in the past, for example in Wengen to ski and the cost was what you would expect to pay. The views were... More

Rochers de Naye is one of the most famous destination in the Swiss Riviera. - It is a MUST especially if you are there in summer because you can go on foot. This is an incredible mountain walk. But it is quite a long walk (4-5h from the lake - Montreux or Chillon Castle) and you really need to be... More

We arrived on a wintry morning and it was a perfect setting for visiting Santa. The kids were given a little treasure hunt paper where they were given locations to find (eg Santa's bedroom, Santa's rabbits etc), and after they have found them all, they get to submit it for a small surprise. The highlight was meeting Santa of course.... More

If you can't afford to take the kids to Lapland to see Santa Claus, this a great alternative. The little train takes you all the way to the summit and Santa Claus has his cave hidden in the mountain. The train ride up the mountain is a great trip with spectacular views.

Decided to have a go to Rochers-de-Naye while waiting for my other half to finish her seminar. Its pretty easy to book at Montreux train station especially in the morning. Good if you have the Montreux Riviera card as it give you a 50% discount. Price around CHF25.8. Its a 2-car train to the top. Beautiful view along the way... More

This is a great experience with people being greeted by players of the alpenhorn. There are interesting marmots awaiting you, and if the clouds part, the best view of the lake and the area.
