A few days in Lausanne and faced with torrential downpours we took refuse in the museum. What a good decision. There was so much to see we could only touch at the edges. The August Strindberg exhibition was an eye opener. The work and thoughts of this Swedish polymath on display were fascinating and beautifully presented. A big bonus was... More

Near metro station. Geology exhibition particularly good, the photo emitting stones particularly interesting. Ticket system odd. It is free but you need tickets and a different ticket for special exhibitions, so you find yourself having to continually return down to the front entrance to collect a free ticket.

there was really nothing to see in this Museum, a room was even empty! The other two rooms wad child like "art" installations from contemporary Swiss artists that I struggled really hard to perceive as art but didn't manage it...

Nice city museum featuring a limited number of famous artists and lots of regional landscapes and portraits. Worth a visit, especially when paired with one of the other three museums that share a common ticket for admission.

On a Sunday morning we saw the video art exposition, well-documented and, to use that horrible but ineluctable word, "interesting." Pipilotti Rist's was most interesting. And we in fact really enjoyed the rest of the museum, the geology and archeology depts. Should be seen once. Nothing of the permanent art collection was on view as the video took up too... More

We visited the exhibition Valloton-Katz. Very nice as both artists really do match in a way. Unfortunately in my opinion: the museum owns close to 10'000 paintings according to their webpage but has no space to show even the masterpieces. Hopefully the new building will change this.

We found there any interesting collections. The part dedicated to contemporary glass work was really beautiful. In the museum you will find also many artifacts of middle age and well presented. We spent more than 1 hour inside and I think I will come back with my kids during summer holidays
