Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We first went inside the cathedral on a Thursday morning, while it was being vacuumed. It was very informal. If we had not been with a local friend we would have been hesitant to enter. Then we decided to attend on Sunday, even though we are not Catholic. The service was lovely, and the organ sounded beautiful. The acoustics were great!

The Cathedral is an imposing building in both Romanesque and Gothic styles.
At the top of the bell tower there are gaudy clocks.
The Cathedral is in the historic center and was built in the mid-11th century.
Inside it is possible to admire an imposing pipe organ, a beautiful wooden pulpit, various altars and an interesting baptismal font.

Notre-Dame cathedral in Sion is a magnificent building. Inside it impresses with slender columns, a pure gothic look, beautiful stained-glass windows an a golden altar. What catches the eye outside is the massive bell tower, more precisely its "windows". There is only one opening at the bottom, two openings a little higher up, followed by three and finally four openings at the top. There is another small church, considerably older, right beside the cathedral.

Pay a visit to look at the beautiful stories in the stained glass. You don't know it but you are in the heart of Christianinty as we know it. A group of hermits in Valias formed a Monastery and the Tridum ideology was born here in 300AD. circa

We arrived at the Notre-Dame du Glarier Cathedral just after a big wedding party had left. After entering this beautiful building, we wondered how lucky the young couple was to be married in such a nice setting.
Be sure to visit the lower crypt too.
Amazing architecture. decor and spectacular stained glass window overlooking the altar.

Was in Sion on market day and before leaving stopped in for thoughts. One unusual thing to this church is that you walk down to enter r as the than up.

This was recommended by the tourist office and I would highly recommend it too. The architecture was amazing and is busy with regular church goers attending. The interior is even more breath taking than the exterior and outside there are some seats if you fancy just relaxing and enjoying the view of the outside.
