Right next to the train station

This collegiate church is one of the best preserved churches I have seen in Switzerland, and it should be your first stop when you arrive at the train station. It is clearly Romanesque, but inside, there are elements from the 12th through the 18th centuries: you will see Gothic wall paintings next to Baroque plaster decorations. It is a great example of how architecture and art changed over a 600 year period.
Best of all, there is a crypt beneath the church that has spectacular Romanesque capitals and rarely seen painted wooden ceiling panels.
