Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The Engadine is covered with wild flowers in June. We were disappointed seeing very few flowers on the Heidi trail.
Also, we had difficulties finding a place to park the car close to the trail.

We were there in the late spring. There were flowers, but the walk is really not much & was partly blocked due to maintenance at the time.

There is the Heidi Flower Trail (German: Heidi's Blumenweg. Italian: Sentiero dei fiori di Heidi) and there is a Heidi's Hut (labelled as Cabaña de Heidi in google maps).

We didn't do the Heidi Flower Trail as it was late. We took the last funicular from St. Moritz Dorf to Chantarella, then walked to Heidi's Hut. It was an upslope walk which we were glad our elderlies didn't come along.

No one's there at around 6 pm on the last Sunday of September 2017. The hut is not locked. There is a playground (swings, seesaw, and slides) beside the hut. Great views.

We then strolled back down to our hotel using Via Tinus and Via da l'Alp.

If you have a manual wheelchair that can be carried with its occupant in it or the occupant can walk a few steps, it can work.

The attendants will help get the chair on the funicular.

The Heidi flower trail is beautiful and groomed, but gravely and steep in many places. If you can handle the grade it's a beautiful view and a real treat with many photo ops. Despite the difficulties, there are very few similar mountain trails in Switzerland that are as accessible.

If you prefer a less ambitious way, I suggest you try the path by the lake which is also beautiful in a different way, paved and flat. To get to the lake from the town is also graded. You can take the inclinator down to the bottom floor which leads to an elevator to the lake.

Worth the short funicular journey (about 15 mins) and then follow the signs off to the right when you exit the funicular station. The flower trail is full of local alpine plants and easy to walk. It's worth walking down from this point too. You will come back out in St.Moritz Dorf.

Heidi's blumenweg or flower walk St. Moritz, is a free attraction that is a comfortable walk for most people.

Heidi's flower walk is most enjoyable. Alpine flowers are labelled along the way. In late August edelweiss was in flower. I have visited in June and July and there has been a much wider range of alpine flowers. However even without flowers it is a most enjoyable walk. We went up by funicular to Chantarella Station and began our walk there on a good quality path. You can make it a flat walk along the contour or link it to other walks e.g. the Schellen Ursili Path. The views on the walk down to St Moritz and its lake are lovely and very photogenic.

NB this attraction is the same as Tripadvisor's Sentiero dei fiori di Heidi, one is in Italian, one in German. See Heidi Blumenweg & Ursli trail for more photos

Because of construction work in 2016 we only followed the lower half of this trail. Never the less, the walk is easy with pleasant views over St Moritz, and plenty of wild flowers. In places these have been 'moved' in order to make way for more exotic alpines, but this is all a bit half hearted, and they seem to be losing the battle against the natural opposition.
Followed the Ursli trail back to St Moritz which would be far more interesting for the little ones, but this is through the woods, so although still pleasant, views are restricted. this trail tells the story of Ursli and the bell, well known in the Engadine, and feature many carvings and the story itself in various languages.

The sequence of the story is top to bottom so the start point of the trail is the mid point of the Heidi flower trail, NOT St Moritz where it ends

This is an easy stroll from Chantarella; accessible by wheelchair and with push chair. It offers nice views and it passes several flowers (blumen) along the way. You also have the possibility to take a detour and visit Heidi's hutte but that is not accessible by push chair or wheel chair.
