On our first day we reached around 11 am and decided to do a short walk using the cable car. When you reach the top there is a nice restaurant (very Swiss) that offers basic food and a panoramic view. If you have young children there is a playground which I believe may be the most beautiful playground in the... More

A large cable car makes the quick trip up to Mannlichen where the views are amazing. I was lucky enough to spot a chamois in the snow on the way down. It can get quite busy with skiers, but is a good experience.

The Wengen Mannlichen Aerial Cableway is a very short distance from the Cog Railway which brings you up to the alpine village of Wengen. The service runs every 15 minutes and takes you to the Mannlichen tourist/ski area. From here ,you after a very short walk, have some of the most amazing views. There is also a large self service... Fastest way to Männlichen. Impressive view to the Jungfrau and the Lauterbrummen valley. Wildlife with Chamois and Snowrabbits if you open your eyes to watch the forest and the open space. Especially in winter you can see the animals standing.

A really smooth and quick ride up to Mannlichen. I'm not a big fan of cable cars (especially those with sudden dips and jerky spots) but found this one to be fine. Can get a bit crowded as people try to squeeze themselves in so be prepared to be squished.

I hate heights and was apprehensive but it was fine. Sit in the back and look straight ahead if heights bother you. 7 minutes to the top goes quickly. Tram can hold about 50 people. Leaves the station every 20 minutes. Alternative is to take the train around to Grindelwald and take the small 2 person gondolas up to the... More

We started our day in Grindelwald - with Lunch at Mannlichen viewing area and restaurant ... The day was cloudless... After viewing Wengen from the Gondola Station we descended very steeply with a village view of Wengen and the avalanche of 1978 - where there is No Development in the Red Zone.. From here we walked through Wengen and headed... More
