I stayed in Grindelwald, and had a balcony room view of the Eiger. Imposing to say the least. Skiing in Kleinne Scheidegg has you sking toward and from the Eiger North Wall on certain runs, and it's hard to imagine a more stunning backdrop

Best viewed from the village of Grindlewald in the vicinity of the Bebbis Restaurant, the north Wall is terrifying. Fancy a rock climb of 3,000 feet? Often you can see idiots risking their lives doing it. The scenery though is stupendous - do not miss

From Muerren, you get a close up and personal view of this iconic peak. Majestic and commanding all day, all night.

If you stay in Grindelwald you are "confronted" with "the triple" Eiger, Monch and Jungfrau, 3 fantastic mountains, part of the main rim of the Alps. The setting is just breathtaking - in summer, but even more in wintertime. From Grindelwald and the Kleine Scheidegg you...More

I always look at the North Face in awe. The climb and risk of death. They tell me there is a higher risk of being killed climbing the North Face than getting killed climbing Everest. As a percentage of those who go up and those...More

If you go to Jungfraujoch, leave from Grindelwald to see Eiger's deadly north face. It is worth it and impressive!

There are great views from the top of the observatory - down towards the glacier and on the other side towards Interlaken. Take the earliest train up possible. You will be slightly ahead of the crowds if you go directly to the observation area and...More

Great place to visit. The entire region is spectacular. The views are incredible and in the winter the snow is garenteed. I would highly recommend this place. Even getting to the ski slopes is an adventure on the mountain trains.

The train journey is around 2 hours each way. Price is roughly CHF 120 return. You can buy a discount pass that gets a 50% reduction - worthwhile if you will be doing a reasonable amount of travelling in Switzerland. I would... More
