Came here and weather report from below was shoddy. Looked up and saw ominous clouds. Decided to risk it and go up on the gondola (which was really expensive). We were a bit upset because we drove all the way to Switzerland to see this...More

Hiked from Bettmerlap to Bettmersee from the path in parallel to the glacier. Beautiful view. Took around 6 hours including long breaks and taking pictures

The Aletsch Glacier, seen from Jungfraujoch, is not the highest point in Europe, but the Top of Europe nickname given to Jungfraujoch is erned by it being the highest train station in Europe, and therefore the highest point that most of us are able to...More

Get here early and enjoy the peace before the crowds arrive. Truly breathtaking scenery. We could hardly see anything on the gondola up from Betten (very cloudy!) but it cleared as we got into Bettmeralp.

Good view of the glacier from Jungfrau. Air is thin so little difficulty in walking. But worth to spend time there.

High on the Top of the World you can see the wonderful glacier below and marvel at the surrounding mountains. Beautiful.

There are some great views of the start of this glacier from the Sphinx or Jungfraujoch at the Top of Europe. If had more time in Switzerland, it would have been great to head south and catch a better view of the glacier from Eggishorn...More

This is certainly one of the best panoramas of Switzerland (and there are a thousands worth seeing). I would suggest a whole hiking day in the area. Very good options are to start in Fiescheralp or Bettmeralp and do a whole tour of Bettmerhorn and...More
