High on the Top of the World you can see the wonderful glacier below and marvel at the surrounding mountains. Beautiful.

There are some great views of the start of this glacier from the Sphinx or Jungfraujoch at the Top of Europe. If had more time in Switzerland, it would have been great to head south and catch a better view of the glacier from Eggishorn or Bettmeralp, but I was on a pretty tight timeline so just enjoyed the amazing... This is certainly one of the best panoramas of Switzerland (and there are a thousands worth seeing). I would suggest a whole hiking day in the area. Very good options are to start in Fiescheralp or Bettmeralp and do a whole tour of Bettmerhorn and Eggishorn. The trail is easy and does not gain a lot of altitude. Alternatively climbing... More

Aletsch glacier is simply a natural masterpiece. Good for both hiking and mountaineering, and for easygoing sightseeing. The magnificence of the glacier and the surrounding peaks can be fully enjoyed from several view points (namely Moosfluh, Bettmerhorn and Eggishorn). Main peaks and view points can be reached through a number of trails, or via a cable car, the main starting... More

Great day out. Traveled from Lucern by car. Two cable cars to the top of mountain. Fit people can walk right to the glacier.

The best panoramic views are offered from the Grünsee Suspension Bridge. Beautiful rugged, jagged terrain.

Aletsch Glacier (Aletschgletscher) is the largest glacier in the western Eurasia. It runs from the Bernese/Jungfrau region and winds it ways down to the Valais region. The formation of such long, thick and broad glacier arena with a shape resembles an image of lizard; had earned its inscription of the UNESCO World Heritage in 2001. One of the top adventures... It is a place that you must see... I saw it from the Jungfraujoch for the first time. The mighty mountains and the pass are breathtaking.

We walked the Aletsch Panoramaweg from Blatten to Fiescheralp. Beautiful views of the glacier. Very rocky trail. View changes little along the trail.

I went up Eggishorn to have a look and was greeted with an amazing view of this huge stretch of ice and rock that is the Aletsch glacier. Some people bring their binoculars to catch a glimpse of the greenish-blue water that occasionally peeks through the ice. I then did the hike from Fiescheralp to Bettmeralp along the side of...
