Broken Disappointed old and everything is broken
Jul 2020 • Family
We came here 2 and a half years ago and it was lovely. Things where a little old but they where fun and safe!!!
We just returned July 4th things are broken the go carts nearly ran my foot over as the peddle for the break was broken.
It scared our child who couldn’t stop I had to grab him home scaring him and all of us!
The trampoline door can’t close so it’s unsafe!
The train is Expo is broken!!
The tram ride down is broken!
There is no care being taken for for place!
People and there cars just arrived what if our child was running around two cars just pitched up! And didn’t drive slowly they drove in as if driving into a carpark!

Im sorry to say this but you should be ashamed at what you are providing people!

I normally never post bad reviews. My rule of thumb has been to praise above average service and experiences when traveling. But I feel I have a duty to others, especially those with young children, to advise against visiting so-called attractions that seem to have forgotten the foundational rules for running a successful tourism business.

In summary: Don't waste your money here.

Why? It's expensive, considering what you get, which, from today's visit, is not much at all. The small play area is shabby, almost derelict. The kid's bumper cars have also seen better days, but require 1 Franc to be operated and don't run for very long at all.

The interior of the building is interesting in a perverse way - no upgrades or refurbishments seem to have occurred since the late 1970s. Indeed, the entire facility is sorely in need of investment and extra staffing (to that point, basic staff hospitality training - I'll get to that soon).

We didn't eat there, but from the other reviews, (I will always check the reviews in the future) I'm glad we didn't.

I could possibly overlook all of this if the toboggan was worth the effort. But it wasn't.

Main points:

1. The ride was altogether too short. It was over before it began.
2. The track and the cars looked like a health and safety nightmare. The cars are faded yellow plastic, clearly aged and don't seem to offer what I would expect in terms of minimum protections and failsafes. I'm not sure how it would pass the usually comprehensive and strict Swiss inspection regime.

2a. Operational safety: My 6-year-old son has ASD (Autism). He is also below the age to ride alone as outlined in Heimwehfluh advertising. That was ok - we'd feel better having him ride with one of us, per the brochure photo. It was the main reason for us choosing to visit.
But the contemptuous, rude little man at the top, who seemed more interested in talking to his female companion in the ticket hut, told me could only ride alone. When I told him that my son is 6, has autism and by their own rules, must be accompanied by an adult, he proceeded to imply I was lying about his age. He then told me he would take my son down. I wasn't too sure about this, so I asked if the man knew anything about autism. With almost melodramatic impatience he quickly dismissed my understandable request for assurances regarding my son's special needs. I lost what little reserve of tolerance I had left for this person's lack of concern and said that if I couldn't take my son down with me, we would leave walk down. He eventually deferred to his manager(?), who had earlier had told me it was ok to ride together with my boy, and thankfully, he allowed us to ride together. We rode down. (See #1).

I've now read some of the other many negative reviews and find myself in agreement. This place operates on a shoestring with the sole purpose of extracting as much money from customers as possible. The person collecting tickets for the toboggan should be fired or moved to a role where he's not customer-facing. If he has such contempt for the people paying his meal ticket, he should find and job elsewhere. Clearly, someone owed a favour to his parents.

The positive reviews don't even remotely reflect our experience and I suspect them to be shills.

Great view of Interlaken
Jul 2019 • Family
Lets be straight, we didnt pay for the funicular ride, too expensive and the staff running the place need to do something they like or be more friendly. So we decided to hike our way up. 10-15 min in the woods and you are at the top, with a wonderfull view of the lakes

Great traditional funicular
Jul 2019 • Couples
Love visiting Heimwehfluh, although the funicular does not go up as high as the Harder Kulm funicular you still get some really good views. The carriages on the funicular are very traditional wooden structures complete with curtains - really sweet!! The terrace at the top of Heimwehfluh gives fantastic views over Interlaken - we can never understand why more people haven't discovered it!! Also, they do a really good homemade burger, for when you just want some comfort food!! the walk back into town through the forest is really peaceful and relaxing or you can opt to go down the quick way by toboggan which is great fun.

Antidote to mega-tourism at Jungfrau
Jun 2019 • Couples
Just what we needed after a busy, noisy, all-out-tourist-day at the Jungfraujoch. We were the only people on the funicular train,
we then made the most of the wonderful view up the tower, had a well-priced, very nice meal on the terrace with a view over Interlaken.....and then a fun luge ride down to the beginning. What is not to like? Oh and the waiter was friendly and helpful. Altogether an old fashioned and delightful visit. We had already visited the Harder Kulm which is higher, more than twice as expensive and looks shinier ... just two different experiences.

Awful in every way - not worth the money!
May 2019 • Family
We read mixed reviews of this place and decided to give it a go. Really wish we hadn't. We tried to get a discount on the funicular as it stated online we could go half price with out travel pass - this was not the case. We were sold an all inclusive ticket for 23 francs. The funicular took 2 mins and seemed very poorly maintained cosmetically. The children's playground was extremely tired and unmaintained. The slide just didn't slide, the trampoline was a sad affair and the general swings/roundabout equipment was in a state of disrepair. The model railway show was ok but certainly not worth money to see. The toboggan run was a health and safety nightmare! The view from the tower was good but the same views can be found elsewhere. I wouldn't waste your money!

Nice and small
Sep 2018 • Family
Went there with our 2.5 years old daughter. Stayed there for several hours. There are only a hand full of thongs to do there but the veracity is nice. The pricing was very reasonable in Swiss standarts.
