Mannlichen is a smaller ski area on the Grindelwald side from Wengen. A nice variety of lifts and slopes, and ability to ski back to Kleine Scheidegg from here. Subject to winds and sunshine, this area can be preferable to other exposed areas, but it's a bit of a travel to get here or come away from, so if you... More

We arrived at Mannlichen via the large cable car from Wengen. After having lunch, exploring, doing the Royal Walk (stunning views) we returned on the little gondola to Grindelwald, a nice round trip. The views on Mannlichen are wonderful, particularly on a lovely clear and sunny winter's day. We enjoyed lunch out in the sunshine. This is such a lovely... More

We took the gondola from Grindelwald Grund to Mannlichen, which is the longest gondola/cable car route in Europe. Its a beautiful slow ride up the mountain. As you go up you hear the tinkling of the grazing cows' bells which is the most charming noise you'll ever hear. At the top the views are even more amazing. There is a... More

Mannlichen is easily reachable by cable car. Once cable car arrives, the peak is 10 minutes of walk with 360 degree views. Plan on long day stay to have a better chance of clearing clouds. The surrounding peaks can be clear over time or by afternoon. Bring food and water or dine at the restaurant there. Summer time could be... More

We could not have been happier with our day trip to the top of the world. Worth the lift ticket for sure. Bring some walking shoes

This is a beautiful ski area with magnificent views. The runs have variety and are good for different levels of ski abilities. The gondola from Grindelwald makes it easy to access.

Family of six (children 6-16) went up the to mannlichen with the gondola from grindelwald, walked over to kleine scheidegg and then took the train down to grindelwald. A bit pricy (in comparison to other european destinations, though very acceptable in swiss terms) but the scenery is great, the walk is not difficult though some spots were a bit scary,... More

My Swiss colleague told me that I could enjoy magnificent vistas without hordes of tourists by taking the cable car from Wengen to Mannlichen. It was a spectacular vista and we also did the short Royal walk up to an even higher viewing point. The 1:45 hour descent to the valley was remarkable for the scenery and the quiet only... More

As about as close as you can get to the giant 14,000 foot mountains. Easy short walk from train station to an Easy 10 minute gondola ride. On top of the mountain, No hiking, just easy walks. We stayed on top for 40 minutes. Gondola rides are every 20 minutes.
