Heidi trail and the hamlet of Stugls
May 2016 • Couples
The hamlet of Stugls houses about 20 people. It's sole church there is also the burial ground for the residences. It is also earmarked as s historical site. There's rich history here! It is a 2 hour walk from Bergün or you can take the post bus up then continue with the Heidi trail that takes you to the location of the 1952 movie, which is another 2 hour walk. I suggest buy whatever good you need in Bergün before you embark on this pleasant hike. The hike itself is rustic but not too difficult and I believe younger kids could handle it. Take time to visit the church and marvel at the frescoes that are said to date back to the 12th century. I was told at one point in time this church was shared by both Catholic and Protestants alike - using the church for service on alternative weeks.

Fantastic Flowers
Jul 2015 • Family
This is the Heidi flower trail. You can see her grandfather's cottage from the film (old enough to remember?) but the main attraction is the flowers. Easy walk after the first stop on the funicular railway and a chance to see Edelweiss - not quite wild, but close.

Good walk in an innocent small town.
Stayed at Casa Claro. Walked through town all the way to Heidi's " main" house. From there, it's about another 1 1/2 to 2 hours to reach the summer house. Then back. We made it about half way to the summer house and turned back. Didn't want to get stuck in the dark.
Very little commercialization. A very low cost setup. There are some goats for picture taking. You need a lot of Heidi imagination to realy enjoy enjoy this.
