We thought this a wonderful museum and really enjoyed the work by Swiss artists such as Holder and Cuno Amiet. The paintings by Vincent Van Gogh, Henri Matisse ad Paul Cezanne were a wonderful suprise and really enriched our expereince. My wife and I found the staff wonderfully freindly and helpful. What a hidden gem in Solothurn.

They have a permanent exhibition and sometimes they have one that changes. Great Museum with Swiss artists. Children are also welcome in this Museum (you can go there with your school...).

We thought, based upon our DK guidebook, that this museum would have a larger collection on display that it does. While interesting from a modern art standpoint, we had hoped for more Impressionist art.

Not one off the greatest museums but well worth a visit if time permits and need a change from looking at old buildings

We visited the Kuntmuseum to see the exhibition of the art of Edouard Vallet. The show was quite extensive with many his early sketch pads and notes in addition to his finished works. This showing will last until June 2013. It exhibition notes were in French and German, English would have been nice. The building itself was beautiful and well... More
