many years ago I came to Luzern and I thought it was very provincial town. Now you can get everything and it offers a lot of old and new things. I could live there.

I felt this town as a poem. The houses and streets are made up as a childhood fairy tale, during my walk I was so seduced that already planned coming back. I would stay near Luzern a few days and take all the lake cruises.

Loved this area, the only negative is that it has grown substantially in the 20 years since I have been there. But still has the old world charm with lots to see and do. A must see if in Switzerland with the lake and the mountains around it.

The old town of Luzern is great and worth visiting. It's very cozy and charming. It's one of the most well preserves places in Europe. You will certainly enjoy visiting the old town of Luzern

The old town has a old charm. You must walk here to get the feel of the entire town. The town also has some small coffee places to meet friends and enjoy. This is a must see.

While when we were there for two days, it was their traditional festival called Fasnacht, during the first night every one marching in different masks and musical instruments, the whole old town was very active and people gather in the street and drinking beers, playing musics. Lots of stalls along the lake shore of the old town selling local products... More

Lying to the north of the river are the fantastic Old Town streets of Lucerne. These feature lovely buildings with the typical Swiss architecture. Perhaps most disappointing is that it doesn't live up to the standards of Zurich or Bern's old town. Although the streets are worth visiting, it felt slightly more commercial and typically Western than I would have... More

Lucerne is perhaps the prettiest Swiss city and the Old Town is the prettiest part. What struck me is how the "old town" is basically lots of old buildings with lots of new, fancy shops. I was expecting a quaint, historic area but it is basically a chic shopping area. Take a stroll around, cross the bridge, have some lunch,... More

Lovely buildings and architecture. Can imagine how nice it must be in the summer. Lots of little streets and alleys to explore and plenty outdoor seating areas by the water too
