Old tower from the 14th century
Aug 2019
We passed by the Molard Tower as part of our group's walking tour. It was previously a military tower from the 14th century, now surrounded by restaurants and shops. It is now an interesting looking tower with a nice facade.

Old and dirty

The tower looks very old and dirty. It seems to be closed and under renovation. Would be nice of they open to public for viewing.

Lovely tower
Oct 2019
This tower was once part of the defensive walls of the city and protected the port (now Place Molard). The tower has ornate clock, frieze, and the coats of arms of major Reformation contributors. A plaque states Geneva, city of refuge.

Part of the Old City

We took a walking tour which gave us more of an appreciation for this area and the tower. Absolutely an area to explore while in Geneva for a day.

While walking...
Apr 2018 • Couples
It is a military tower dated back to the 14th Century. While walking from the Old town and going towards the lake, this tower will get your attention. The area is famous for its food, shopping, and architecture. Many visitors have suggested seeing this place at night which I, unfortunately, could not do that. There is a bar on each floor of the tower and is considered as a romantic place for a lovely evening or dinner.

The bar in the tower is small but offers a great atmosphere. Friendly ambiance and overall a bit special experience.

Nice landmark
Jan 2018 • Couples
It is not easy to miss the Molard tower and PlaceMolard when visiting Geneva. Take the boattrip on a mouette from the Kempinkski hotel, and then you walk right into it. The tower is picturesque, the restaurants around Place Molard are all great, with Café du Centre my favourite. Now choices have to be made: will you retreat to the Tower and then take on the upmarket Rue du Rhone for some hardcore shopping ? Or will you move on to the rue du Marché where the trams pass, cross and start your climb to the delights of Geneva's OldTown?

This is nothing special and not worth a visit, but it is nice to pass by if in the Molard area, which is worth walking through on the way to the old City.
