We stayed in Geneva for a couple of days and saw that we were only a short distance from the Grottes district and the Smurf buildings. As a frequent visitor to Barcelona, I thoroughly enjoyed my visit to these Gaudi inspired public housing. Don't just look from the outside, but go into the complex. The staircases, balconies and many more... More

How on earth did they get the go ahead to build this monstrosity is anyone's guess... absolutely zero architectural interest and a curse places on the neighbours as values must have plummeted hard after this awful building was built.

At first, I just ignored them--weird buildings, who cares?--but if you are in Geneva for longer than a couple of days, head here to take in some different sights. The architects were inspired by Gaudi, with his natural forms and no right angles. From the street, you see only one side--walk around and explore the different streets in Les Grottes,... More

I have always been interested in architecture and buildings either classically beautiful or ones which are different. These buildings, there's a few in a cluster, more commonly known as the 'Smurf Buildings', are certainly different and probably in this period of time far from classical. However, they are a sight to see if you like buildings. The scheme has undoubtedly... More

There are a few interesting buildings to see here - they are located in a avery quiet place. There's also a coffee/ tea house in the area, but other than that there's not much to do there.

I find these strange looking buildings quite ugly. It would be a waste of time to go out of one's way to see them.

Interesting but only if your in the vicinity. Only takes 5 mins to see. There is much else to say about this. Geneva is not the easiest city to view as a sightseeing tourist, being busy and very spread out . If you get a tourist transport ticket the trams and bendy buses are a must.

If you have some free time, take a quick look on unusual architecture. This is very interesting design of the buildings just a few minutes walk from train station.

This group of building called "smurphs buildings" are unique in design. It reminds me of Gaudi designs in Barcelona. The architect in these buildings inspired by Gaudi work. Very unique architectural deign, must be seen by architects.
