Lived in Geneva since 1978 but it took me until 2010 to walk in this monumental structure, certainly among the top ten most beautiful buildings in the country without a doubt. the ceramic collections are wonderful and free to visit, the temporary exhibits have so far never disappointed. the grounds are lovely and there is a café to relax in.

The building was built as a private museum that was later donated to the city. It is very beautiful. They have a permanent exhibition on ceramics and porcelain and visiting exhibits too.

The architecture of the museum building incorporates neoclassical and neo baroque characteristics. With a collection of over 22,000 European, Middle and Far Eastern ceramic pieces, from medieval times to the present day, the museum offers a comprehensive view of the history of ceramics. We saw, read, understood the development of ceramics from its technical and stylistic progression . After enjoying... More

Musee Ariana was not on our list of 'must sees' but we had heard that it was worth going for the building itself, which is truly beautiful. However, we were pleasantly surprised at how wonderful and interesting the collection is and we had a lovely time here. Now I would say that it is definitely a 'must see.' Remember to... More

We ended up here after visiting the UN. Entry to the general exhibits is free and interesting to those who like antiquities and/or ceramics.

A small gem of a museum. Lots of beautiful porcelain and ceramics to look at in a lovely setting. A cafe that serves a variety of delicious teas and glasses of wine. A perfect place to muse. And an added bonus - wi-fi that works immediately with no fuss! And the museum is free!

The Ariana museum is primarily dedicated to a collection of old items of china and various pieces of furniture and also there are revolving exhibitions that are for an extra cost, though the main museum is free, as are most that I visited in Geneva. I toured the museum in maybe a half an hour and I liked what I... More

It is a beautiful museum full of pottery and porcelain. Exhibition shows porcelain from many European countries and the Middle and Far East too.The collection is the only one of its kind in Switzerland. The museum is located in Ariana park, few steps from the UN building and Broken Chair sculpture. There is free admission.

Beautiful old neo- classic, neo baroque building that Gustave Revilliod built in 1877 to 1844 to house his private collection. Though I find paintings more to my liking, I was fully captivated and absorbed by beauty, diversity and vastness of the exhibits. Amazing place to visit.
