It is a free museum so you have nothing to risk by stopping in. I was absolutely thrilled that I did. You can visit every level of the house from the basement to the attic. Take the time to take the stairs outside and get...More

This is supposedly the oldest house in Geneva. I was running out of time when i got here so i was only able to have a look at the ground floor. There was a very informative 3-D movie that details the history of Geneva in...More

I had to choose between the catedral's archeological museum or this one. This one was free, so it won. This is a public run museum on the history of Geneva. I was awed. I really enjoyed Learning more about the city and its protestantism past....More

Start your tour on the third floor where you'll find a very large, model replica of the city in 1850. Then amble your way down from floor to floor. The second floor is entirely presented as it would have been in the old days, complete...More

If you have limited time you should focus on other sites in Geneva. Again, yes, it’s the oldest house in Geneva and I'm not saying it's a bad visit but there are so many other museums that deserve your time. I dropped in because within...More

Great place to visit to get an understanding of life in the old town of Geneva from 1200 on. There was a really passionate English speaking guide who was very interesting. Don't miss the view of the lake from the alcove.

The video near the entrance was informative and worth listening to. There was an English version which was helpful. Be sure to look at the floor and higher up and not just the exhibits. There are little gems in those areas too. The first floor...More

This is the oldest house in Geneva and is definitely worth a visit. Don't miss the lower floors and the huge wine/water (?) cask. Every floor is interesting. No entrance fee.

The real swiss life museum. It's a real house of Mr Tavel that is now a museum with a huge amount of things to see and discover the everyday life of Geneva's people in the past.
