The UN has tours of their two main buildings that primarily take you to all the main convening halls - each with a different style. The tours don't require reservations unless you're a large group - just line up at the main gate that's across...More

We got up Tram 15 to the terminal station " Nations" from Geneva Train station. It took around 15 mins up there. Then you need to walk up hill for around 500m on the left hand side( suppose you are facing the "Flags of Nations")...More

If you have the time, the UN is an interesting place to visit, the tour is security conscious and passports are required, The tour itself is about 1 to 1.5 hours and takes you through a number of buildings and rooms and their functions are...More

Geneva and its surroundings ( Lausanne etc) are famous for historic peace conferences. I was at UNOG for the first time and as a speaker here, but the experience was nice and I would like to take my family and child as visitors as well.

The guided tour of the UN building gives an insight into important rooms, interesting art, the organisation's general history and its work today. The student ticket was 10 Swiss francs which was worth it for a pretty unique experience! Our guide was very pleasant and...More

One of the most famous places in the world which was even better known for Atal Bihari Vajpaye's speech in Hindi. Beautiful architecture, ideal location and so well guarded. We're overwhelmed. Once in lifetime opportunity. Whole of Switzerland is worth visiting but this should be...More

Visited the UN buildings with a large youth group. It was amazing to hear young leaders share insights from their countries and being to relate, learn and note best practices. Definitely an inspiring environment.

Wonderful tour! Very moving and interesting, though our tour guide would have loved to be any other place! Be sure to check out all the amazing art given to the UN from various nations. A real treat.

Hello! The UN website makes it sound as though it is very difficult to get into the tours. Has anyone had this issue? We are a party of two so we cannot reserve a spot ahead of time, according to the website. Just wondering how likely it will be that we will actually get to join a tour if we just "show up". Also, if a tour is full, are there areas of the building that you can access on your own? Thanks in advance for your tips!

It depends a bit on how many tourists turn up on the day, but in my experience it wasn't hard to get on one. 3 of us arrived around half an hour before the first tour and got in fine - it seemed to run more frequently than... More
