I understand that Bern has a history with bears but, still, it is heartbreaking to see this three bears live in such a small place. I visited in July, and the heat was very high, I do not think it’s going to revert (climate change),...More

This is an ok thing to see if you have not seen bears before. They are in a small enclosed area. Being from the Seattle we are use to seeing bears in the mountains all the time.

If you are going to keep wild animals in captivity, ensuring their habitat is as natural is possible is a great improvement on the old circular pit (which can still be seen next to the new enclosure). By getting there nice and early (approx 8.30am)...More

We were a youth group of 6 teens and 4 adults. Visited the old bear pits, stopped at the very clean free bathrooms, then had our packed lunch on the shady bleacher style steps between the bear park and the river. There is a free...More

This popular tourist attraction has bears in their riverside habitat. They are kept here because Bern is named after bears. So their namesake and history is tied to bears.

We first visited over 20 years ago and the improvements that have been made to the bears’ enclosure were great to see. We felt a bit sad first time we saw it but they now have so much space and we got to see them...More

I do understand that the bear is the symbol for Bern, but I do not know whether its really nice for them to be limited to space in the middle of the city. I think they would be much happier in their natural habitat. Apart...More

This was done well. The park is a bit smaller than I had thought it would be, but the bears honestly seemed very comfortable and happy. The walkway had many details about the bears, their lives, habits, and personal details. If you don;t see a...More

I like bears. But not like this. These creatures deserve something better, something bigger, something more natural. This is only a little better than your local zoo. This bear pit is for the comfort of the tourists not the bears. Where’s P.E.T.A when you need...More
