The lovely rose garden is well worth a visit while in Bern. The view of the city over the Aare is spectacular and every rose bush is identified by variety and place of origin. The restaurant is quite good. I can hardly imagine a more...More

Absolutely beautiful roses and garden. There is a coffee shop here and an Einstein bench. Great views overlooking the city of Bern. Free bathrooms located on the grounds as well.

Not really the season for roses, but there were a few. The view is awesome and it seemed like a nice place to hang out and have a bite to eat and just enjoy some nice weather

A short bus ride from the Railway Station would take you here. Its probably THE SPOT for all visitors to this city. A well-maintained garden full of activity for all ages, giving a scenic view of the old church and the city.

For the flower lover, this is well worth the walk. Be aware that the road up to the garden if you are walking is pretty steep, but OH the reward. It was gorgeous and the views of Old Town Bern is an added bonus. It...More

The majority of the blooms are gone but the gardens still boast a decent number of beautiful ones. There are a few dozen varieties. Also in the park is a great lookout over the main part of the city. One of the “Einstein benches” is...More

Your mom is right ;-) 1-3 hours would be fine, depends on what you will do. If you will have eyes for the flowers, for the view or for the good restaurant. You don't have to walk all the way there uphill. But the walk is... More
