You cannot miss this imposing Cathedral in the Bern old Town. It belongs to the Swiss Reformed church.
The highlight is that you can climb the 220+ steps to go up the bell tower and get a magnificent 360 degree view of the city and...More
It’s worth it to climb to the top (5 CHF). You can see the entire city from the top. I went at the end of the day, 4:40 PM and there were only a few others at the top. You do climb a spiral staircase....More
The Church has quite a history and if you're lucky, there's a wedding or a concert happening. The platform at the South Side is where many locals hang out. There's a quaint Café, managed by the Café Einstein team and from the platform, you overlook...More
Worth a visit for its setting, in the old town, location, above the river, for its west front doom sculpture, and for its general proportions. The tower is interesting, and there are some interesting monuments - a bit of a specialist interest! Worth a detour,...More
We did read any travel guide but just headed toward the Munster haus. Walking around we came across the park behind it built up on the walls of Old town. Well worth it the church itself is spectacular and spire is beautiful
When you visit Old Town Bern - you must visit the beautiful cathedral and admire its marvelous internal and external architecture. You can relax in the verdant cathedral garden and enjoy the lovely view of Aare River.

Sorry but I don't know the hours and we decided not to go to the top as we wanted to see more of the city. It's absolutely a must-do if you're touring Bern. I'd check with a concierge at a hotel in the city. They'll know for sure and you can probably email them the question.
Also, be sure to go to the river and take the tram down to the Bear Park. Epic river views from the tram.
If you like art, then I'd at least go to the Paul Klee Museum and if you really like art then I'd add the Kunst.
Enjoy your time in Bern, I had a marvelous time there and look forward to returning in 2017! ;~>
