Afternoon Stroll

Came across this place by accident when stopped in Basel on a river cruise and found it to be an oasis in the city for a pleasant walk. Popular with families.

I took my 1 year old granddaughter there yesterday. We found the park clean, well enjoyed by many and with lots to see and do. There were several groups having picnics, the tables scattered around the park and again very clean. There are several play areas separated by walking paths....try one area or try them all as we did. My... More

A very nice park\green space in the city. It's acceptable to Bar-B-Q here if you want. There are places for children to play as well as places for adults to relax far away from those loud happy little people - overall a nice place to spend a warm day in summer or take a walk in the winter.

This park brings back childhood memories, as I grew up in the neighborhood! - It used to be a cemetary until 1932. There are still a few tombs as monuments there. The parks has opened 65 years ago, there are quite a few old trees spread around the park. It serves also a playing ground for kids (no ball playing).... More

Lovely little park to have a meander and enjoy the outdoor scene. Great areas for kids to enjoy and look out for the Troll!!

I was surprised upon entering the rear entrance of the park as it was surrounded by a wall and gates. It was not until walking through the park and around to the main entrance, that I began to realize the real history of the park. Formerly, this park was a cemetery (see the markers and writing at the entrance). Currently,... More

It is a nice park with playground for children with swimming pool. Also a place where you can run if you want of to meet with friends and grill together or just having chill. When the weather is nice there are many people here. It is a nice park in Basel.

It is a very beautiful and clean park. There are paths for jogging (or walking), huge grass spaces to chill or grill (even both!), playgrounds and table-tennis are also available. There are some tables with chairs and you can go to study if you need a peace and silent place to stay.

This is the best park in the city with kids. My son kept cool all summer in the fountain there. It is a beautiful park and great to stroll around or to enjoy an ice cream. The climbing features are great. Americans, please note that Swiss kids learn about climbing high up on ropes and structures from an early age,... More

If your kids need some time at the playground, this is the park. They have quite a few playgrounds in the park. On hot summer days they also fill up a little pond with water so take a towel with you. If you are lucky you can find a table with benches for a proper picknick!
