It was shown as a must-see to visit and I agree. It was fun and short but wow the river is huge and beautiful and the current is scary! Definitely the best thing we did in the city.

Short but interesting slow paced boat trip across the river. Only cost 1.60 per person so worth it to experience crossing the river by the power of the current. Great

You've got to do this, crossing the Rhine with the ferry. The person running the boat, has to keep it at 45 degrees angle and the ferry moves just helped by the currents, being connected to a cable so you don't end up in the North Sea :) Best 1.6CHF spent in our trip. And it was -5 degrees Celcius... More

I often use this ferry when I'm in Basel. It's a must visit if you're in town. It gives you another view from the city for less than CHF 2.--. It's a short but unique experience and a great way to cross the river.

These small, wooden boats can take you across the Rhine from Klein Basel (small and newer part) to Gross Basel (big and old part) or vice-versa. Though everything is walkable in the city, you can take one of the 4 boats from different points for a few minutes to relax and enjoy the view while indulging in some tradition. It costs 1.60...
