San Bevignate is the only Templar's Knights churches in Umbria
Oct 2015 • Couples
Now the Church is open again. This wonderful Church is the only church who still has inside Templar Knights frescos paintings.
It is a magnificent church to visit and the frescos paintings are extremely important to be seen.

Worth the effort but needs planning
Jan 2016 • Solo
At January 2016 the church is only open for the mornings of Saturday and Sunday. The location of the church as indicated on the local free tourist map isn't very clear and there are no visitor attraction roadsigns that I saw. Even after getting lost in the rain it was worth the effort although €4.50 entrance was a bit steep. The only information in English is available on a tablet so it's worth researching both location and history in advance.

13th CENTURY SAN BEVIGNATE TEMPLAR SITE
May 2014 • Couples
A lovely old understated church, built 13th century, with some beautifully preserved 13th century frescoes. No photos allowed. There are postcards available. A little bit out of the way, (we were the only two people there), but well worth a visit.

The church is around 2kms from Piazza Novembre IV, according to Google maps. There are buses that run close to the church. We chose to walk, please note that in places there is not much of a footpath. The church is on Via Enrico dal Pozzo and does not appear on the tourist map given in Perugia, we used a copy from Google Maps. San Bevignate is not listed on Google maps. Using Google Maps, go to 'Trampolini Frantoio Oleario' and the church is another 240 metres from here, along Via Enrico dal Pozzo. If you zoom in with the little yellow man you will see the church.

Opening hours, Saturday and Sunday 10am-1pm & 3pm-6pm, these were the times when we were there in May.

Underneath the church there are also some Roman ruins from 1st century bc, access to these is included in the admission to the church.
