Had a wonderful visit to Assisi with Marica. Marica stayed in touch with us over email and set up a perfect meeting spot. She toured us around Assisi with great care and knowledge. We were given all the backstories and religious meanings of all the places we visited. Assisi is a very special place but is made even better with the help of Marica. If you get a chance to book a tour through this company I highly recommend doing so. Thank you for an extremely memorable visit!

Irene was hired as our Tour Guide for our Group during the week of 10/7/19. What a find she was. Incredibly knowledgeable on the local history, the local lore and the local food, and all shared with humor and enthusiasm. We had several group members that had difficulty traversing some of the sights, but she was patient and gracious, never rushing them. Our travels took us through the Umbria and Tuscany Regions where Irene was able to educate the group about the Region and the Villages we stopped in, proving to be a tremendous resource for our inquiries. Always patient and always allowing us to explore, yet closely watched so that we didn't get lost or off track. Irene became one of our family members during that week. Besides being a wonderful Guide, Irene also shared some of her personal side with us. She happens to be a pretty good writer, poet and artist. Several of her short stories were published and a very good read. Highly recommended should you be looking for a Guide for the areas that Irene works.

No matter what religion you are from, Assisi in the region of Umbria is a Must See. A charming hilltop, full of history, art, breathtaking scenery all around where you immerse yourself in pure gorgeousness. Marica, our tour guide, made this visit quite an amazing experience because of her knowledge of art and history paired with her passion for Italy, especially for her region. It is obvious that this is not a "job" for her, but rather a profession that fulfills her.

We experienced the most wonderful tour of Assisi. Our tour guide was Marica, and she speaks English extremely well and knows and loves the town as her home. We can’t say enough about her or how much we enjoyed our visit there. We hope to go back again.

If you are considering touring Perugia and Assisi, look up Irene Cangi of Guide in Umbria. Two hours in Perugia is probably sufficient. You will want to spend at least half a day (4 hours) in Assisi. (If you have a full day and are really fit, you will want to see two sites outside of the city--the monastery and San Damiano). Irene is a certified guide, university educated in languages, speaks English and several other languages well. We met Italians from Rome, Tuscany and Umbri--beautiful spots in their own right--who told us that Assisi was beautiful. Oh so right! The Basilica--with its church above and church below is massive--with art everywhere--on the walls, windows, ceiling, chairs. One can really get a fuller appreciation of what is being seen with someone point out the details about the artists, symbolism and story. Irene did that with enthusiasm. and expertise. She even helped us do a little shopping and negotiate additional time with our driver.
