About
The Palazzo degli Oddi, then Clarelli Marini, today House Museum is located in the heart of the city of Perugia in the area where there were already in the medieval era homes of the family, in one of the five most important streets leading to the main square. The palace was built around the middle of the sixteenth century and was inhabited until the middle of nineteenh century. The last owner, the Marchioness Barbara Marini Clarelli, painter, restorer and expert in local history, for testamentary disposition wanted it to be set up a foundation that would combine his name with that of her beloved husband, the famous art historian Francesco Santi in such a way that the Palace could be made accessible and could become a place of study for the history of degli Oddi family, one of the oldest Italian nobility that significantly had a significant influence on the history of Perugia during the Middle Ages. Today the House Museum still bears historical furnishings.

An interesting piece of Perugian history
Aug 2017 • Couples
We visited the house museum on a bright afternoon and the sunlight certainly highlighted the beauty of this house. We were accompanied by a guide who gave us an excellent explanation about the history of the family that owned the building and showed us around some of the rooms that had been lived in. She took care to explain some objects that belonged to the family and gave us an idea of what daily life would have been like living there.
The tour takes about 40 minutes and is worth the visit.

Very Interesting

A very interesting visit to a fascinating Casa Museo, excellent guides clearly describing the history of Perugia and the history of the Oddi family and the Baglionis. Particularly interesting is the visit to the rooms on the first floor, beautifully furnished and full of personal touches. Most enjoyable.

It was a nice surprise to find this quaint palazzo in a small and quiet street in Perugia. The story told by the guide was very interesting and I think they're doing a great restauration work. I hope they can continue, it is really worth it.

A wonderful visit to a fascinating old house
Apr 2016 • Couples
This House Museum is only open on two half days a week so make sure you are in Perugia at the right time.

We had a wonderful tour of this old house, a former palace built in the mid-16th century. It's still owned by the descendants of the original owners the Oddi family, who were one of the two most important families in the area. Tours are free, but our guide was so good we made a donation.

It was great to learn more Italian history and Perugian history from our wonderful guide – she was a credit to any organisation. We well exceeded the usual tour time but as we were the only visitors on her tour it wasn’t a problem. Like many places the rather “off the beaten track places” are often the best.

Revive "the Interior" to get a clearer view and a "bigger picture" of Perugia's history!

The palace has gone through centuries preserving many interesting signs of its evolution, along with the events occurred in Perugia. The staff is very kind and prepared. Suggested!

Excellent guided tour in Italian or English though the guide was kind enough to put up with my modest Italian. Interesting house with nice view over the back and mostly original furniture which is unusual. This viewing is free, with the times as advertised. Well worth a visit
