Showpiece in the Heart of Perugia
Feb 2020 • Solo
Exquisite Gothic building located in the heart of old Perugia. I did venture inside this building while visiting the Galleria Nazionale dell’Umbria which is housed inside. Several rooms still retain ancient frescoes and the clock tower room is quite interesting. Unless you have an interest in religious Renaissance Art, I’d simply enjoy the palazzo from the exterior.

Free Entry

I actually thought the outside of the building was cooler than the inside. It’s free entry and worth checking out. Big front terrace worth checking out with some really cool old door

Amazing gothic palace
May 2019 • Solo
It houses the National Gallery of Umbria, but also the free to visit Sala dei Notari, A chamber with painted coats of arms and beautiful wood beams, part of Perugian history. It also houses the Collegio della Mercanzia (paid entrance), it is beautiful, but I wouldn’t call it a must see, it is one room covered in beautiful wood paneling. Nothing more.

Part of the Palazzo dei Priori - a magnificent meeting hall
May 2019 • Couples
The decorated vaulted ceiling and walls of this lawyers' meeting hall dating back to the late 1290's are simply breath-taking. This is one of the oldest parts of the palazzo. There are 80 mighty painted arches! It used to be used as the peoples' assembly. After 1582, it became the seat of the Notaries' Guild. While only a few original frescoes remain, it was repainted by Matteo Tassi in 1885.

A real sense of medieval Italy.

Beautiful building, one can so easily imagine how it might have been in medieval times and lots of things to see, museums and artworks in a small area.

Love perugia
Mar 2019 • Solo
I love the atmosphere because it gives me a real Italian feeling with the stone buildings and the little shops and cafes in the palazzo. Nice to sit and people watch

A busy place infant of the cathedral, with many chocolate stands and street vendors. Some are very aggressive. Lots of photo ops.
