The starting point to discover Perugia.

Impressive central city place. Good that traffic is very limited. Surrounded by several historical buildings. Just wear comfortable shoes, not high heels.

This gorgeous main piazza is great for people watching
Sep 2020
Piazza IV Novembre is not to be missed during a visit to historic Perugia. The piazza is flanked by historical buildings like the city's Duomo and the Palazzo Priori which go back centuries. The beautiful Fontana Maggiore sits in the middle of the square. It is such a pretty fountain with so much detail - be sure to check it out. People love to sit on the steps of the Duomo and chat and people watch. This is a great location to meet friends and soak in the city, especially at night when everything is lit up.

Picturesque Square
Feb 2020 • Solo
This is the heart of old Perugia with a large square featuring a beautiful 13th century fountain, the Duomo and several medieval buildings that make this seem like something out of a Hollywood movie set. From the steps of the Duomo, students, locals and tourists alike sit and watch the comings and goings in this piazza. A wonderful place to take in the atmosphere and energy of a city that remains true to its past.

The heart of Perugia

It’s one of the most picturesque squares in central Italy, with the three main sights of the city center (Priori Palace and the National Gallery, Cathedral, Fontana Maggiore fountain) all located here. Perfect for pictures all year round.

Unlike anything
Jul 2019
It looks like a mixture of unconnected architectural styles - Romanesque, Gothic, and 18th century architecture - but the end result is harmonious.

Main square of Umbria’s capital
Nov 2018
This is an especially beautiful square. It is at the end of the pedestrianized main street Corso Vannucci. The cathedral is also in the square, and the must-see city hall and medieval merchants hall are paces away
