Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We visited the Piazza Grande in the morning, so we got to enjoy it without many other people present. Thus we could enjoy the open space and the view with great tranquility.

We reached Piazza Grande by taking the direct municipal lift at the end of Via Repubblica, saving us a lot of walk around the hillside. Once up there, we were rewarded by an amazing view of the valley below.

It had just started snowing. The view from the deck was amazing. Standing on the steps it's easy to imagine people hear hundreds of years ago.

It's worth going here if only for the view. Too bad there were a few cars passing by. The places nearby are also nice and convenient: restaurants, bars and boutiques

Gubbio is famous not only for St. Francis and the wolf. It became a familiar town to us Italians because of a TV series aired on Raiuno named “Don Matteo”, which is about a priest which is able to solve crimes and which is actually set in Gubbio. While visiting Piazza Grande, I could imagine to see him riding his bicycle… apart from that, a pleasant square to visit!

A must when in Gubbio. Maybe the best place to have an aperitif in the afternoon . There's a very medieval atmosphere which reconciles you with the world

It is the best spot of Gubbio. It is a large square considering the narrow streets of the little town. The big palace dominates the square and the view on the valley of Gubbio is fantastic.

I have been to Italia 4x now for a total of 3+ months and Gubbio is the best.
The tour buses have not overwhelmed this medieval gem yet. Take your time. Walk all the streets and alleys-get lost even. The city is spotless and almost no ciggies which is a rarity here. Take the Busitalia bus from Perugia for about 11 euros. You will never forget Gubbio.

Could wonder these streets for days and take photos and admire the view, lots and history and not too many tourist crowds shouting and marching about. Just beautiful.
