An hour walking in the woods. to prepare for silence. outside the walls. To find again the real mystic atmosphere of Assisi. out of the temple and away from merchants. to recover the true dimension of love. Unforgettable.

This is the site Saint Francis would retreat to for solitude. It is really a magical place and highly recommended.

Not many tourists up here, at least compared to the sites in town. We came in the evening, and ended up wishing we had more time to wander around in the woods. It's beautiful up there. Not hard to see the draw.

It was the refuge in the mountains of Assisi, of Sant François of Assise, now it's a small monastery for visits, a quit and simple hermit refuge, for relax and meditations; Assisi is in the province of Prerugia, it's a place of pilgrimage.

Solitude and silence and the sacred radiation of the holy men with Saint Francis may bless everyone who comes here to pray.

Opposite the entrance is a parking place. If you go before or around 10:00 in the morning, it won't be to bussy and without busses. May God bless you. Felix van Hulsen.

I don't remember exactly. I think it was about 5 euros per person for a shared cab.
